Anti-cheating measures implemented at the European Chess Club Cup

In view of the ongoing Carlsen – Niemann story and the general tension created around the problem of cheating, the organizers of the European Chess Club Cup have implemented anti-cheating measures. There will be a 15 min delay on games transmission and cameras broadcast on all boards in the venue.

The 15 minutes anti-cheating delay may come handy in view of a possible explosive match-up in the next rounds – Magnus Carlsen vs Sebastien Feller. To this day, Sebastien Feller is the highest rated chess player to be caught cheating. He is now playing on board 1 for his team CE Le Cavalier Differdange and may be paired against Offerspill’s Chess Club top board Magnus Carlsen is later rounds.
