35th Leon Masters with Anand, Gelfand, Esipenko and Jaime Santos in the field (LIVE)

The 35th edition of the Leon Masters takes place over the weekend 8-10 July in Leon, Spain. The event gathers four world top players: GM Viswanathan Anand, GM Boris Gelfand, GM Andrey Esipenko and GM Jaime Santos and it is played as a 4-player knockout tournament. (Scroll down for live games)

Players receive 20 minutes for the entire game, plus a 10-second increment starting from move one. In case of a tie, two blitz games (5+3) will be played, and if still tied an Armageddon game.

Simultaneously with the Masters event, Leon will host the 7th Open Magistral de Leon. The Open tournament will be played 9-10 July, in 9 swiss rounds with rapid time control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move. The total prize fund of the event is more than 2.000 EUR.
