The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 was declared officially open at the glorious ceremony which was held today in Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The ceremony gathered local and FIDE authorities, Indian celebrities, chess enthusiasts, and Olympiad participants.
A month ago, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the first-ever Chess Olympiad Torch Relay and today addressed the distinguished guests and players. After the inaugural ceremony declared the event officially opened.
