Ukraine is the Winner of the Women’s Chess Olympiad 2022!

The battles for the Women’s Chess Olympiad winner’s podium lasted till the very last minute of the final 11th round. Ukraine claimed gold for the first time since 2006 having better tiebreaks than Georgia who finished silver! Replay all games here

The Chess Olympiad 2022 was played from 29 July – 9 August in Chennai, India and broke the participation record set in Batumi 2018. 159 teams represented by almost 800 players took part in the event, but without Russia, China and Belarus, the Indian women’s team was the main favorite to win the competition. India was the sole leader of the event after 10 played rounds, but lost gold after losing to USA in the last round. Replay the match here
