Magnus Carlsen will play Alireza Firouzja in the SCC final. The top French player defeated Hikaru Nakamura 16-11. Firouzja lauded Nakamura’s chess strength through the years, “He is very impressive. It’s a pity I didn’t play him when he was like 25-26, I think it would’ve been a much greater match, much closer match probable. He’s one of the legends, of course.”
