Chess Olympiad rounds start with delay due to shuttle bus problems

Grandmasters think a few moves ahead and GM Antoaneta Stefanova saw it coming. A few days ago Stefanova commented, “In Budapest we have accommodation problems, which I hope to be solved. The problems are for players from many countries. […] I hope those organizational problems do not spread to transfers to playing halls.” The accommodation issues and scattering of players through different hotels has created transportation chaos in Budapest. Vlad Ghita, whose opening day report you can see here, says, “Round 2 started with a 10 min delay, an improvement over yesterday’s 20 min delay. It is unclear whether the shuttle buses are to be blamed, or whether the delegations ran late.”
