The Chess Olympiad 2024 is going to take place in Budapest, Hungary from 10 to 23 September 2024. It is the world’s largest team event and will have a record breaking participation. Today the most important chess gathering of the year was officially opened in Budapest. (Unexpected: no live broadcast of the opening by the organizers)
The drawing of colors for round 1 was made by Susan Polgar and Sofia Polgar for the Open and the Women’s sections respectively. The first board of top-seeded teams in each section will start with Black.
