Ukrainian young chess players have stormed through the European Youth Rapid Chess 2024, which took place 17-18 August in the Czech Republic. The Ukrainian youngsters won 4 golds, 6 silver, and 3 bronze to top the medals table of the championship. The second place is for Poland with 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 5 bronze medals, while third is Romania with 2 golds and 1 silver medal.
A total of 10 nations managed to win a medal from the European Youth Rapid Chess 2024. Each of those medals carries significant value, as the event has 1250 participants representing 47 European federations.
No rating favorite managed to win his/her respective age group. Special praise goes for Ema Jaksa in the U10 group who is the only player to score a perfect 9,0/9!
